The Church in Arlington

Finding Home

I am 38 years old and own a very high volume restaurant that has 25-30 employees. The hours can be long and the stress level high. I was brought up believing in the Lord Jesus and attended church as a young teenager. I attended several types of churches, always feeling that something was missing. They all had the same things: preaching salvation through Jesus Christ, learning right from wrong, and at some time during the service they would always pass the offering plate expecting you to make a donation. The religion services never filled the emptiness inside and so I stopped going.

I started attending the local church in Arlington, Texas at the beginning of 1999, telling my husband that I would give it a try. By the second meeting I felt like I belonged. The focus in the local church is on experiencing Christ, loving the Lord and rejoicing in what the Lord brings to your life. It is wonderful finding out how easy it is! By saying: “Lord, I love you. Come into my heart.” There is such a wonderful feeling of peace and love. I also have known that the sins I commit can be forgiven after I ask the Lord to forgive me. When I ask out of a pure heart, I am forgiven. The Bible says: “He will remember them no more.” I am so happy knowing that the Lord will always love me and I will never again be alone.
